| This section provides the information on how to understand the Wheel Size.
|
| |
| Example |
| Wheel Specification: 17X7 4-100 38S |
| |
| Wheel Size: 17x7 |
|
17
This number indicates the size of the wheel as measured across its center
|
|
7
This number indicates the width of the wheel as measured across its barrel
from the front rim to the rear rim. |
| |
| 4-100 |
| This number indicates bolt pattern of the wheel |
| |
| The bolt pattern is comprised of two numbers - the first indicates how
many bolt holes are
on the wheel, and the other describes how far apart they are. A bolt pattern
of 4-100mm
would mean the wheel has four bolt holes and they are 100mm apart (measured
across the
center of the wheel). |
| |
| 38 |
| This number indicates the offset of the Wheel.
The offset of a wheel is what locates the tire and wheel assembly in relation
to the suspension. More specifically, it is the measured distance between
the hub mounting surface and the centerline of the rim.
|
| |
| C |
| This alphabet indicated the finish of the wheel. With hundreds of different
wheels there
are dozens of different wheel finishes. They are clearly marked at the end
of the wheel
size (ex. C = Chrome). |
